About the member of the National Council
Anton Medved was born on 17 June 1959.
Due to difficult circumstances at home, he had to handle all tasks at their farm in the village of Stražgonjica in the Municipality of Kidričevo from a very young age.
When he took over the family farm as a young man, it covered 6 hectares of farming land, 10 cattle, and a horse. With responsible work and enthusiasm, as well as the help of his wife and son, he developed and grew the farm. Today, the farm covers 60 hectares of farming land and over 200 heads of cattle, with a primary focus on milk production.
He dedicated his entire life to farming. This taught him to respect the earth, animals, and the farming profession, as well as the value of persistence and hard work.
For many years, he has been involved with the Union of Farmers of Slovenia. At first, he was president of its branch office, then a member of the executive board, and he is currently president of the Union of Farmers of Slovenia for a third term. As president of the Union, he strives to achieve better work conditions, and the development of farms and the Slovene countryside, whereby he emphasises traditional values and personal property.
He was elected to the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia as a representative of farmers on the proposal of the Union of Farmers of Slovenia and the Confederation of Cooperatives of Slovenia with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture of Slovenia.
