He was elected to the National Council as a representative of local interest (19. electoral unit - Slovenj Gradec).
In the National Council, he is:
- member of the Interest Group of Local Interests;
- member of the Commission for the Economy, Trade, Tourism and Finance,
- member of the Commission for Agriculture, Forestry and Food.
About the member of the National Council
Bojan Borovnik was born on 29 August 1964 in Slovenj Gradec. He lives and manages a smaller farm at Kozjak and fathered three children.
After completing secondary education in the field of electro-engineering at the Velenje School Centre, he started working at Gorenje in Velenje, where he took over the duties of various leadership positions and thus obtained a great amount of important professional experience.
Because he wanted to contribute even more to the company’s success and grow as a person at the same time, he decided to pursue additional education, which he successfully completed and became an electronic engineer. In 2010, he defended his master’s thesis in the field of economics and obtained the title of a master of management.
During all these years, he participated in any project which was important for the advancement and development of the town and municipality in which he resides, and, at the same time, he has been a member of multiple organisations in the municipality.
On the initiative of town residents, he ran for and was elected as a member of the municipal council of the Municipality of Mislinja 12 years ago. He was especially attentive and active regarding even development of all hamlets, to which he continues to pay particular attention today.
At the 2015 local by-election, he became the mayor of the Municipality of Mislinja. He is currently performing this work for his third term of office, of which he is especially proud, as it is additional proof that the majority of residents trust him and approve of his work.
