Member of the National Council

Drago Žura was elected to the National Council as a representative of local interests (3. electoral unit – Maribor).

In the National Council, he is:

  • member of the Interest Group of Local Interests,
  • member of the Commission for Education, Culture, Science, Sport and the Youth,
  • member of the Commission for Social Care, Labour, Health and the Disabled.

About the member of the National Council

Drago Žura was born in 1970 in Kranj. He spent the first years of his life in Tržič. He completed elementary and secondary school in Ljubljana. With the title of bachelor of work organiser, he graduated from the Faculty of Organisational Sciences at the University in Maribor. He continuously furthers his education (London School of PR: Public Relations, State Examination Centre: English – higher level; University in Maribor, Faculty of Law: professional examination in administration procedure; Association of Supervisors of Slovenia: certification for performing the function of a member of a supervisory council and management council;…). He also performed the function of a member of the National Council in the IV. mandate from 2007 until 2012.

He lives in the Municipality of Hoče – Slivnica. He is a father to a teenager, Rok.

He is employed with the Student Organisation of the University in Maribor.

He leads the Solidarity Fund – an institution for supporting youth. He is active in numerous associations and councils of institutions.

He spends his free time engaging in sports and travelling.
