Gregor Korene

Gregor Korene was elected to the National Council as a representative of local interests (20. electoral unit – Krško).

In the National Council, he is:

• member of the Interest Group of Local Interests,
• member of the Commission for International Relations and European Affairs,
• member of the Commission for Local Self-Government and Regional Development.

About the member of the National Council 

Gregor Korene was born in 1982 in Brežice.

After completing elementary education in Sevnica and secondary education in Celje, he graduated in 2005 as a full time student of logistics in the services industry from the Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport of the University in Ljubljana, thus obtaining the professional title of a bachelor of engineering in transport technology. In 2018, while employed, he completed a postgraduate degree in the field of macroeconomic theory and obtained the title of a master of intercultural management.

Since 2004, he has been employed at Pošta Slovenije, d.o.o., where he obtained experience in various fields of work and in various company’s offices. Since 2008, he performed different leadership roles in numerous units across Slovenia. He is currently a head employee in the company, working as an adviser to management. In an intermediate period, he was as a member of the workers’ council for two terms the workers’ representative in the company’s co-management.

As part of and in addition to his regular employment, he continuously pursues additional education and qualifications. He has obtained a permit to perform activities of insurance representation, as well as a certificate of qualification as a member of supervisory boards of commercial entities. He is an accredited supervisor with SDH and experienced as a former and active member of many supervisory councils of companies operating in the Slovenian space and beyond.

Since 2014, he has been as an active member of the local community as a member of the municipal council in Sevnica. He is a member of various committees of the municipal council, councils of public institutions, and associations.

He dedicates most of his free time to his family. Additionally, he is an enthusiastic motorcyclist and sailor.
